The SAREX from Aurora on June 16&17,2006, was a successful operation. There were quite a few sorties flown and many trainees were able to get signed off for various qualifications. It turned out to be the same weekend the display and flights of the Collings Foundation B-17 and B-24 were at Aurora also. They were at another location on the field, but the possibility of being in the pattern with one of them was a unique experience. Tom Traver, Oregon Wing PAO, took several pictures. The ones below are a small sample.

The monitored SAREX on August 5,6 earned Oregon Wing a "satisfactory" rating from the Air Force team that was setting tasks and monitoring operations. This SAREX was run out of multiple locations. Many of the tasks were very challenging. There was also a ground team task. At Aurora, there were warbird rides in T-6's staging out of the same location as our mission base. This made for an interesting time marshalling our aircraft. Thanks to cadets from Columbia Composite accompanied by Lt Anderson for their work. They did an outstanding job and Dave from Willamette Aviation made a point of coming out and complementing them on thier behavior and for a job well done.
